GALTX

Yeller, aka JDC Old Yeller, is a handsome, 3½-year-old fawn male born October 1, 2005. His sire is Dodgem By Design, making his grand-sire the late famous Gable Dodge, and his dam is Brooke. Yeller has 3 races to his credit on Greyhound-Data.com starting August 4, 2007, at Tampa, FL Race Track, and finishing August 11, 2007. Since then Yeller has had several minor injuries which prevented him from participating at the 2008-09 race circuit at Valley Race Park in Harlingen, TX.

Yeller’s cat test: Yeller is way too interested in cats. He tried his best to get to one on a higher surface and barked when held back. No cats for Yeller.

Yeller is a beautiful ‘Lucille Ball’ shade of red, or as my UT-graduate husband likes to call it - burnt orange. His expressive eyes are almost the same shade as his coat – it’s a striking combination.

If you like doggie kisses, Yeller will deliver them anytime you let him. He does a happy dance when we get out the leashes – he’s an alert, energetic walker who is learning not to dart all over the place on leash. Yeller loves soft squeaky toys, but can also be found walking around with a tennis ball to chew on.

Yeller has been a quick study when it comes to the house rules. He now waits patiently (but with enthusiasm) for his food bowl, knows that he has to stand quietly to get leashed up for a walk, and takes his potty breaks outside.

Yeller is a confident and easy-going boy. He likes knowing where his humans are, and will happily flop down for a nap nearby. He puts up remarkably well with being bossed around by the four older greyhound girls in the house. Yeller has not lived up to his name at all – he doesn’t talk to us much inside the house. He will bark occasionally when we’re out on walks and he sees a rabbit or an especially impertinent squirrel.
