Carter Carter

Carter is an approximately two-year-old fawn male greyhound captured as a stray on Saturday, October 20, 2007. He was one of two stray greyhounds that have been running loose in an east Ft. Worth neighborhood for several weeks. Because this particular neighborhood is known for "illegal activity," the search and capture of these two greyhounds had to be very cautious. GALT's live trap was placed in a field and as luck would have it, Carter went in the first night in search of the yummy, yummy food. When he arrived, Carter was heartworm positive, infected with Ehrlichia, his rear left foot had been traumatized from being caught in a trap, and his left front leg, specifically the ulnar bone and distal radius, have been previously broken. Now, 8 months later after successful treatment for the heartworms and Ehrlichia, Carter is ready to find his forever home! He is a sweet, loving boy. Carter is not cat tolerant but has not been tested with small dogs. He is in a foster home in a high-rise condo with one other Greyhound.
